I recently built two complete internal platforms for Belgian companies.
The first was a fully functional email and push notification campaign platform for a Belgian startup. It allows the team to create, manage, schedule, and monitor communication campaigns from one place.
The second was a housekeeping and maintenance management platform for one of the leading apartment management companies in Belgium. It helps coordinate apartment cleaning, maintenance tasks, staff, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
Both platforms were built with Laravel and Filament. I also used Laravel Boost and Filament Blueprint as AI-assisted development tools to speed up architecture planning, implementation, code review, and repetitive development work.
AI helped me explore solutions faster, generate and review code, identify edge cases, and improve test coverage. However, I was still responsible for the architecture, database design, business logic, security decisions, integrations, code quality, testing, and final delivery.
Using Laravel, Filament, and AI-assisted tools together allowed me to deliver production-ready software faster while still keeping the codebase secure, maintainable, and high quality.
Hi,
I’m a software engineer with over a decade of experience building Laravel applications, but what truly differentiates me is my background beyond code.
Before and alongside development, I’ve worked in international trade, accounting and taxes, logistics, online commerce, organic agriculture, aquaculture, tourism, hardware/electronics, and civil engineering. That exposure shaped how I approach software: not as abstract code, but as infrastructure for real businesses.
I understand operational bottlenecks.
I understand financial reporting constraints.
I understand supply chains, compliance, and how scaling affects systems.
When I design backend architectures or APIs, I think about:
- How this impacts accounting and reporting
- How it scales operationally, not just technically
- How it affects margins and automation
- Where future bottlenecks will appear
Technically, I focus on:
- Clean, maintainable Laravel backends
- Well structured APIs
- Scalable system design
- Performance optimization
- Clear database modeling
But strategically, I focus on building systems that help businesses operate smarter and grow sustainably.
I enjoy working with founders and teams who value long-term thinking, clear communication, and well architected solutions over quick hacks.
If you’re looking for a developer who understands both software and business mechanics I’d be glad to connect.
